Rounded LG G Watch R Coming ‘Soon’

If the prospect of a rounded version of LG’s G Watch has kept you awake at night, then you’ve likely, been wondering, when the company might launch the LG G Watch R—the circular successor to its first-ever smartwatch. The G Watch R represents LG’s commitment to meld form and functionality together in perfect harmony, and to create a device that not only looks great, but more importantly, offers technology that makes life more convenient,” LG Electronics Mobile Communications president Dr. “While the original G Watch was designed to be a no-nonsense, pure Android Wear device, the G Watch R was developed with a more aesthetic eye. Otherwise, the watch’s specs are pretty similar to its rectangular predecessor: A 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of memory, 4GB of internal storage, and Bluetooth connectivity. Or, at least, that’s what retailer Clove indicates: the first round of stock will arrive Friday, and LG G Watch R smartwatches, will start shipping on October 27.

The smartwatch, which has been dubbed by some as the “Moto 360 killer” due to its similarly circular shape and Android Wear capabilities, has finally received a few release dates. For more, see PCMag’s Hands on with the LG G Watch R (slideshow above) and our review of the original, square LG G Watch (video below). Of course, if you’re antsy, you could always hit up Amazon and buy yourself an LG G Watch R from one of the resellers offering it for international purchase. That’s likely a bit more than what LG will ask for the LG G Watch R; though the company hasn’t specified a price just yet. According to LG’s announcement, the LG G Watch R will officially make its debut in various countries around Europe at the beginning of November. Yes, that’s around $100 or so higher than the current retail price of LG’s G Watch.
