How to Jailbreak iOS 5 running on iPhone 4/3GS, iPad, iPod Touch using Redsn0w 0.9.8b1

Apple released the beta iOS 5 beta on WWDC 2011 on June 6th. The iPhone Dev Team Jailbreak the iOS 5 successfully on the combination of topical iOS 5 supported devices except iPad 2. Here we are going to write a guide to jailbreak the iOS 5 beta on iPhone 4/3GS, iPod touch and the iPad. All those who have access to the Apple Developer accounts can get the iOS 5 Beta here.

iPhone Dev Team has also worked with the Windows version but now only Mac users can download and use Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 and jailbreak iOS 5 beta. Before continuing with this Jailbreak, read all the instructions on the iPhone Dev Team.

NOTE: All of them, who have unlock the iPhone using ultrasn0w, must avoid to update to iOS 5 to save their unlocked iPhone.

Now let’s start with the jailbreaking of your iDevice:

Step 1: Download Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 at following links: Windows Users, Mac users

Step 2: Your device you going to jailbreak must have the updated iOS 5, if you dont have, update it with from iTunes.

Step 3: Now open your Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 and search for the IOS 5 Beta, which you have downloaded.

Step 4: If the software has been selected, click Next.

Redsn0w data is now ready to jailbreak.

Step 5: Now Redsn0w gives you some options, select “Install Cydia” and click Next.

Step 6: Redsn0w prompts you now to switch off the iPhone and turn on the computer. Redsn0w will guide you to putting your device in DFU mode. Follow the instructions carefully, if you do it wrong then do not worry, try the whole process from star.

Step 7: As the iPhone in DFU mode, Redsn0w will start jailbreaking your device, the device restarts and you get Cydia home screen.
